Profile Information

Who are you and what type of artist/crafter are you and where do you sell primarily? Add as many keywords in your description as possible because the site is searchable.
I'm a Native Florida Folk artist selling tiki bar signs, mermaids and more. I work as I can with found and drift wood. My work is hung on a rope though sometimes I do stick signs. I do custom and personalized signs sometimes when I'm set up to show. I like to get my work in bars, restaurants, hardware stores, baitshops -- anywhere real FUN people gather. I call my genre "Merry-time" art.

I started this network because as a Folk artist who displays on old found ladders and cast off things from strawberry fields I'm not considered for "white tent" art shows. They say I do not have a display. Additionally I think $295 is too much for a show that you don't have a relationship with. I lost my mind at the Mainsail Art Fest when I saw that boring field of white tents and every other artist was honest to God selling the SAME RED DOOR photograph. That's not art-that's Wal-mart with tent hooks.

When I set up, I'm not just an artist--I'm entertainment. Andy Warhol said the highest art was selling your work.

I am doing Hollizaar Deux this weekend. Sorry I won't see you this weekend. I ususally do The Village Fest, but I got in the hollizaar 1st.

Hi Rhonda, If you are booked on the Mainly Art days, we do host a Downtown Bradenton Farmers' Market every Saturday Oct. - May where we allow a limited number of art booths. Also, we are growing our event offerings, so you never know what we might come up with! You should check our realizebradenton.com website to see how the arts are starting to grow in downtown Bradenton!

I am so happy to find this site. I signed up for a craft show in Safety Harbor on Oct 3rd, it's at the Countryside Cathedral Church, 2701 Rigsby Lane. Luckily I get to be inside, my problem is the heat and it would destroy all of my chocolate stuff. Hopefully I will be able to find some inside shows for the Holidays because I do some really cute christmas items. I'm really hoping to find something with a little more traffic.
