FolkFest St. Pete 2008

I mentioned this event in our FBG summer schedule blog post. I received information today that there are 5 spaces available for those that are interested. Price is decent for 2-day event.

**Unfortunately upon further research I learned this is a juried event. Info states: only artist who create works that are in the category of folk, outsider, intuit and visionary art?? (ha! had we realized that we probably won't have applied...I'm still not sure where we fit on the list :). I figured it was worth getting the word out since space is still available.

Sat. Sept. 27 - Sun. Sept. 28 (set-up begins at 5pm on Fri. Sept. 26).
$150 fee

Brent spoke to the Executive Director and last years turn out was 10,000. Lots of advertising, TV exposure, live bands, musicians, arts and family & fold art demos.

I am organizer at the 4 Seasons Market at 1320 Central Avenue. I believe this event takes place within a couple of blocks right near us. If so, we intend to be open both days that weekend. Vendor spaces will be $10 for Saturday, and if you setup on Sunday its free!!!

This might be a pretty good show. The price is not bad and it's close to home.

Great post. Sometimes "juried" isn't the kiss of death and $150 is reasonable!!
