NO WHITE TENT Affordable Art/Craft Shows

Artists, crafters, hobbyists UNITE against White Tent Art Shows

I am looking at some of the fairs that have been happening weekly, like:

Largo

Coquina Beach

Tarpon Springs

FT Meyers

Have any of you been attending any of these? How well "traffic"ed are they? Does it pick up as we get closer to spring? How about the Snowbird crowd? Do they, as a whole, tend to buy or are they just lookey- loos?

I know that we can never predict how we will do at any given event however, I would love to hear about your experiences. Thanks!

Largo community center was not good traffic, however I have done two shows at the fishing center in largo and the traffic has been pretty good , it's in a good spot, next to heritage village and botanical garden and across from walsingham park, only 25 vendor fee, not many vendors yet, so worth a try for anyone in the area

I promised I would go back to Coquina Beach Market and give another report.  I went today and actually I was very surprised to see about 3 x as many vendors there more than when I went in December.  It was a beautiful day and a lot of people there.

Grumpy looks on the faces of some vendors, maybe not doing very well, but I did talk to only one vendor (I was chased out of the park for bringing my dog!) and he said he does well and is a regular there every Sunday.

I think I'll give it a try after my March 1st First Friday Gulfport and March 15th Third Friday Safety Harbor shows.

I did go look at the Coquina Beach Market in Nov - I think it was the first or 2nd week it was open.  The location is a beautiful place to spend a day. However, there were very few shoppers. Only about 25 vendors.   I am planning to go back later this month to see if traffic has picked up and I will report back here.

If you are talking about the Tarpon Springs Farmers Market on Sundays, yup, I have been there twice now. It is a new market. Traffic is fair, people are nice. Haven't seen much of a snowbird crowd (yet?). But I have booked it for one day a month to see how it progresses. If you do intend to do it, I suggest show up early to set up as it gets quite tight.
