Fellow Crafters....

Doing research for a mobile credit card machine.  Can anyone give info on their experiences and what works for them?  Square Up is one that I have looked at....  I have never taken credit card  in the past 2 years but I am finding out from fellow crafters that I am missing the boat....

I use Square and am very happy with it. Paypal also offers a machine. I don't much about Paypal. Taking credit does increase your sales.

I use Square and PayAnywhere and very happy with both.  PayAnywhere charges a little less.  The money from both are deposited the following day from my swipe, if I key in the card number it does take a day or two longer and has a higher fee.  I have used both for 2 years and people are very comfortable with them and understand how the work.

Also, I have noticed this year that the public has become very comfortable with the technology.  Most people seem to know what it is and aren't concerned about it.

Yes, they both work with Ipads.   Lots of small store owners are beginning to use the Ipad with square or paypal as their "cash register".   You can program in your inventory with both systems and assign a cost to each item.  You can also program in the % of tax and it will calculate it for you.

Does either work with an iPad. 4g or just a cell phone.

I have both Square and Paypal and have been very happy with both.  Paypal charges a little bit less and the money is immediately in my Paypal account.  Square sends the money to my bank account in 1 to 3 days.  Most of my sales at shows are credit or debit cards and I can't imagine having a successful business without them.

We use square and are happy with it.  We are finding that more and more people are charging and have no or not enough cash with them.  Not so much last year, but this year we would have missed quite a few sales without it.

I know others that use paypal which now has a devise similar to Square.  We may get that next year to have as a back up plan.  We would use Square as our primary but just in case square was having issues we would be able to use a second company.  I have heard that the plug in for paypal is a bit sturdier than square but that is just hear say.

I assume you know that you need a smart phone to use them.
