NO WHITE TENT Affordable Art/Craft Shows

Artists, crafters, hobbyists UNITE against White Tent Art Shows

I know i should start a KICKSTARTER campaign- but i'd like to discuss this with ya'll as well.

I have 2 EXCELLENT ideas-

First Idea: LaVern David Thompson blogged on April 8,2014 about starting a new show.....My daughter Sally Harless aka https://www.etsy.com/shop/sadlyharmless?ref=pr_faveshops, Did such thing in 2009 in Bloomington Indiana. Her and a couple of other artist gals started the Bloomington Handmade Market. It is a great idea! I would LOVE to start the same type of organization here on the Gulf Coast and have kicked around names in my head...Main focus is on HANDMADE crafts and nothing else- except some handmade food! I have a majority of the ideas already figured out as i was there to help somewhat in 2009 and learned alot from her.

Second Idea: Craft Mobile..remember the book mobile? Well i have most all of it figured out in my head as well and i know it will be successful!

the thing is i am poor and i need someone to collaborate with me in writing the Kickstarter campaigns- UNLESS ya'll have some wealthy family and or friends that could loan us the start up money.

I am a million percent confident we can be spectacular and at AFFORDABLE rates both to us vendors as well as our consumers. Hell i just wanna make money selling my crafts- i'm not looking to be a greedy monster by sucking up all the profits- Profits go back into the business.

And people are getting sick and tired of seeing the same old same old craft fair after craft fair items at too high of prices. We would have to jury cuz we don't wanna sell crap- but we also need to be UNIQUELY ECLECTIC (which was a name i thought of in the 90's)

okay okay--i am rambling..let's talk about this guys and gals...!   Trish

These are good ideas.  A better forum maybe IndiGoGo or Kickstarter.  AS...I now you did.  If you even have an average cell phone, you could use your cell phone to do the video. Animoto is a good free app, too.  Often these campaigns depend more on enthusiasm and polish more than professional quality. I like Indigogo better.

I think both ideas are great.  But you are right, it takes a LOT of money to start these.  You might want to consider going to some Sat. markets around Tampa Bay and asking questions to vendors and try to find the promoter.  Most craft people are very willing to share ideas.  Good Luck!

I agree. I am not knowledgeable about the processes in Kickstart.

Great idea. Can't have two people selling the same product. Never works...
