Artists, crafters, hobbyists UNITE against White Tent Art Shows
Dues are due for the site until August 2. I will set up a Donation jar the end of next week or so via Paypal. Every little $1 counts. I'll kick in $49 to start, so we only need to raise: $190. I'll send out an announcement to all when it is set up.
PLEASE take the time to look at 10 member in front of you alphabetically and 10 behind. If any of those persons hasn't posted for the past year or shown any activity, email that name to me. While we can have a lot of members, we can't use unlimited space. Some active members use parts of the site as a sales and communication space which is all good. We need all the free or low cost exposure we need.
I hope you guys have all been doing well, as usually I fall off the planet about December and resurface til about December. That's why it takes so many of us to pull this site together. We get busy. Things happen. So all this site asks is to post one event a year..a tip...an idea...just one thing a year that is substantive enough to help another person.
You don't have to donate to this site. I'll keep it up. But if you've had a good year, throw some in the karma cookie jar when I put it up. I had a knee situation this year that took me out during high season -- so, I know how the money flow can change!
Thank you all as always. Thank you for sharing. Thank you for taking care of people out at the fairs. Thank you for watching a booth. Thank you for leaning over to someone and helping them out. Thank you for giving someone water. Thank you for sharing ideas. Thank you for helping someone with their tent, their set up and packing a car. Thanks for helping each other through this rain and wind. Thank you for loving what you do.
I have to say this year, I felt a little victory. There's this large, maybe even national show promoter that came up to give me a flyer. I personally consider this promoter sort of a scam artists and that lures people in who don't know about a site like this, overcharges, overpromises and underdelivers. When she handed me the flyer, I stood up out of my chair at the show and told her what I thought of her employer. She said..."But it's under $150..."
And I will tell you I never LOVED ALL US MORE than I did at that moment. I'm keeping the listing ceiling at $150 a day for this site. If you ever see something over it - email me.
We make differences in a lot of ways. Each of us. It's way kinda of cool -- don't you think?
